The Glasshouse Phuket

The Glasshouse Phuket is a secluded six-bedroom sea-view villa at Ao Yon, near Cape Panwa on Phuket's south-east coast, privately owned and personally hosted by its owner since 2010. It sits in 1,140 m² of landscaped tropical gardens on a jungle hillside, on a small peninsula facing west across Chalong Bay towards the Big Buddha, with uninterrupted sunset views. Two sheltered beaches without rip tides, west-facing Khao Khad and east-facing Ao Yon, are a few minutes' walk away and good for swimming all year.

The open-plan living area, partly remodelled in 2024, spans the full width of the villa and opens straight onto the pool terrace and sala. There is a dining table for up to 16, a triple-height sitting area with a large U-shaped sofa and hi-fi, a TV den with a 75-inch screen, sound system and board games, a full-size table-tennis table, a dedicated workspace and a balcony daybed, plus yoga mats, a TRX and resistance bands. The Western kitchen (new in 2024) has a dishwasher, induction hob, oven, espresso machine, blender and a large island with a breakfast bar, and the Thai outdoor kitchen (new in 2025) adds a gas hob and a bespoke four-burner barbecue.

The master suite has a king-size bed and a king-size sofa bed, a walk-in closet, an en-suite bathroom and double-aspect sea views, with a private balcony and swing love seat over the bay. The second bedroom (king bed, queen sofa bed and a sea-view balcony) shares a bathroom with the garden-view twin room. The poolside bedroom on the main level has a king bed, double-aspect sea views and direct garden access. On the lower ground floor, the fifth and sixth bedrooms each have a king bed, an en-suite and their own private entrance, and the fifth has a private living room with a double sofa bed. The villa can be booked with all six bedrooms or as a private four-bedroom villa for up to eight guests.

Outside, the 10 m infinity pool with its integrated jacuzzi is the heart of the house, lit for an evening swim as the sun goes down, with sun loungers, an outdoor bar table, an outdoor shower and a Thai-style sala with sofa seating and its own sound system. A chair lift runs from the car park up to the entrance on the main living level, and bespoke ramps give step-free, wheelchair-accessible access across that level: the living room, dining area, TV den, poolside bedroom and pool terrace. The poolside bedroom's en-suite has support rails by the WC and shower, and a shower chair is available.

There are no live-in staff, so the villa, pool and gardens are yours alone. A maid comes every day (towel change included), bed linen is changed weekly on stays of 7 nights or more, and breakfast service is included – you pay only for the ingredients. The villa manager, Khun Pond, is on hand daily from 8am to 8pm, with emergency support outside those hours, and the owner answers questions personally. A private chef, airport transfers, in-villa massage, a nanny, laundry, celebration decorations and cakes, and even a wedding organiser can be arranged on request. Sheltered parking for two cars sits inside an electric gate.
